"In this whopping fish story, a boy is saved and a fish escapes. Finally,
Lewisis ready to let his life tell a story that will guide his future."
Topeka Capital-Journal

"In a light, good-hearted tale about a boy abandoned at birth in search of glory and an
identity, Hite offers a most unusual fish story with much to say about friends and
community.elements sure to hook many readers."Kirkus Reviews

Lewis lives in the small town of Slippery Falls, Idaho, where for some time he has
dreamed of catching an enormous trout that lives in a small pool behind a waterfall. But
on Lewis's sixteenth birthday, his adoptive parents hand him a letter that his real mother
left with him in his baby basket. Lewis is shocked to discover that he is French and
seemingly linked to French royalty.

For Lewis, now unsure of his origin, fishing for the trout becomes a quest to discover who
he really is. Just as he is about to nab his fish, he accidentally falls into the water and
nearly dies.

The King of Slippery Falls is a touching and good-hearted novel about the search
for self and the power of belief.

Sid Hite was named a Publishers Weekly "Flying Start" for his first book, Dither Farm. His nine subsequent novels have garnered extraordinary acclaim, including Stick and Whittle, which School Library Journal called "a treasure," and A Hole in the World, hailed by Smithsonian magazine as "a masterpiece." He lives in a converted church near the banks of the Hudson River in New York State.

Patrick Lawlor, an AudioFile Earphones Award winner and Audie Award finalist, is also an accomplished stage actor, director, and combat choreographer who has worked in America and Europe. He has been an actor and stuntman in both TV and film. He lives in Milwaukee.
